Exiting opportunity for a trade qualified Mechanical Fitter – Gas Turbine Valve (GTV Technician) to join our Power Generation Team based in Western Australia.

You will become a core part of our team in WA assisting the Senior GTV Technician to complete the mechanical fitting works required to assess and repair GTVs.

Along with on-the-job training there will also be development within the role through internal training programs and external accreditations where relevant to the role. Successful applicant will be provided with pathway to supervision and leaderships roles resulting in long term career opportunities within Motion Australia.

About your role:

• Complete a range of mechanical fitting tasks to repair GTVs
• Dispatch size valves and actuators for the Power Generation market
• Inspection and repair GTV including testing and reporting
• Checking accuracy and quality of finished parts, tools or sub-assemblies
• Ensure a high level of safe work practices undertaken at site

What we are looking for:

• Mechanical Trade qualification as a Fitter, Turner & Machinist, Light Vehicle or Plant Mechanic, working to tight tolerances in machining components would be preferred.
• Current Australian driver’s license.
• Hydraulics experience working with hydraulic systems, preferably in the industrial sectors.
• Familiarity with hydraulic schematics, diagrams, and diagnostic tools, Further Hydraulics/Gas Turbine training advantageous.
• Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Positive attitude, great work ethics, desire to learn, excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proactive attitude to safety.
• Able to work on customer sites including remote locations
