The Role: 

A Trans-Tasman role reporting to the Merchandise (Category) Manager, the Merchandise (Category) Assistant will provide support in the growth and profitability of a high profile category across Australia and New Zealand, whilst having a strong focus on administrative support, general marketing support activities, web content maintenance, genuine customer service to stakeholders and peers, reporting and data analysis. The team are talented, supportive and progressive, and will provide the guidance for you to succeed and propel in this role. This position is the perfect start to a career in merchandise/marketing.

Your responsibilities will include but is not limited to: 

  • Administration support relating to the category
  • General marketing support
  • Maintain B2C & B2B web content and images, in line with best practice, to improve website experience for our customers
  • Provide genuine service to internal and external customers (stores, store support, sales team and suppliers)
  • Manage product information, cost changes, clearance, excess stock and pricing information
  • Assist with new product launches
  • Assist in achieving sales and profit growth for the category

About You:  

  • Strong computer skills (particular strength in excel)
  • Retail experience or website marketing desirable
  • Automotive product knowledge or interest an advantage (not essential)
  • Studies in marketing/merchandise highly regarded
  • Strong organisational skills, ability to multi -task and juggle a number of changing priorities
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Able to work effectively without close supervision, with a flexible and agile approach
  • A positive and proactive can-do attitude and ability to think outside the square
