Workshop Welder/ Hose fitter

This position is responsible for undertaking a broad range of duties in the workshop and welding at our Kewdale Branch.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assembly of both Industrial and Hydraulic hose
- Welding and metal fabrication for industrial and hydraulic hoses
- Manufacture and test hose assemblies in accordance with Australian Standards
- Follow procedures required for workshop duties - e.g. work orders, schedules, registers, fitting, cleaning
- Become familiar with and have a strong working knowledge of our hose management program (HMP)
- When required, picking and packing orders (for workshop orders)
- Receiving, unpacking and storage of goods in accordance with appropriate procedures
- Assisting with stock takes and stock management
- Use of forklifts/machinery to move goods
- Use and operation of power tools
- Assist with the maintenance and presentation of the workshop to ensure it is kept clean and tidy
- Where demands require, to assist in the warehouse and customer service/counter sales working with/as directed by the Branch Manager.
This is a hands on role that will require physical manual handling of industrial & hydraulic hoses and fittings for the purposes of preparing customer orders for dispatch.
About you – Skills and experience:
- Current drivers licence and own reliable transport
- Experience in welding and metal fabrication - Experience in both TIG and MIG welding
- Forklift license desirable
- Experience in the Industrial Hose and Hydraulics industry or similar background preferred
- Demonstrated high quality service delivery
- Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and solid organisation skills
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and plan own work effectively
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Fit and energetic due to the physical requirements of this position such as picking, packing and handling hoses and pipe fittings
- Participate as a willing and productive member of the team
- Good computer skills
- Commitment to improving product knowledge and other skills in the industry.
