The Role
As a Senior Commercial Analyst at GPC New Zealand, you will play a pivotal role in driving data-led decisions to optimise financial and operational performance. You will partner closely with the NZ Commercial Finance Team by delivering timely, relevant, and insightful business analysis. This role involves working with large data sets, engaging with diverse stakeholders, and providing actionable recommendations that support strategic initiatives and continuous business improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Provide in-depth commercial analysis and reporting to optimise sales performance, margin, and cost management.
Monitor and evaluate key sales initiatives against targets, recommending data-driven corrective actions.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and incentive calculation processes to ensure accurate financial planning.
Develop and enhance dashboards and business intelligence tools to deliver clear insights for senior leaders.
Lead and contribute to business improvement projects and potential acquisition initiatives to drive growth and efficiency.
Mentor and develop junior analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
Ideal Candidate
We seek a commercially astute and analytically strong professional with:
4-5 years’ experience in a commercial analyst role, with exposure to large data sets and cross-functional stakeholder engagement.
Proven ability to translate complex financial and operational data into clear, concise business insights that support senior-level decision-making.
Strong communication skills to effectively engage and influence both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple competing deadlines independently.
A proactive mindset with a demonstrated capability to identify opportunities and recommend actionable improvements.
Relevant tertiary qualifications and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience working with business intelligence tools is highly desirable.
Leadership qualities or experience mentoring junior team members and contributing positively to team culture.
Familiarity with the automotive aftermarket or wholesale branch network industries is an advantage but not essential.
