About the role:
Reporting to the Merchandise Manager, this fast-paced role will see you supporting the Category and Product Managers, along with our store network and sales & operations team to continually help grow the categories within GPCAP.
You play an integral part in in delivering category growth for GPC, supporting delivering our key initiatives in line with strategy, working with marketing on trade and retail catalogues, maintaining and owning product master and digital data as well as market / pricing analysis.
What your day could look like:
- Assist in ensuring marketing catalogue content / creation deadlines are met, both trade & retail
- Maintaining the digital content for the B2C
- Data analysis and review – providing recommendations to category team
- Liaising with suppliers – new products / part creation through to launch
- Reporting / data analytics
- General administration support related to the role and category team
- Internal and external stakeholder relationship building – sales & operations, marketing, finance, procurement teams
What we’re looking for
- Ideally a tertiary graduate (although not essential) or previous experience in a trainee buyer role, assistant category / product manager or management assistant experience in a B2B and/or a B2C industry
- Retail or FMCG experience desirable
- Experience in automotive, engineering, industrial / technical space is a bonus
- Strong communication skills and the ability to develop solid stakeholder relationships
- Medium to high level excel skills and sound experience in all other Microsoft packages
- A love of data and ability to analyse information, identify key points and make recommendations
- Administrative prowess
- A natural ability to be organised
- A resilient, tenacious personality, comfortable working in fast paced environments, meeting defined deadlines and able to work with set objectives and information.
