Our new Broadmeadows Distribution Centre is entering our final stages of automation completion and we are now ready to bring on board 6 new Team Managers. Part of joining in these early stages will you have the ability to help build and grow your own team in 2024. This DC is our biggest and best yet. Standing as a 39,000sqm facility, this site includes bespoke automation, enough parking for all staff and visitors, charging bays for electric vehicles, a first aid room, a prayer/mothers room and modern facilities throughout.

About the role:

Reporting to the Operations Manager and also Shift Managers, your day to day will see you supervising a small work team in a hands-on capacity to ensure employees are productive, happy and are performing duties in accordance with all company guidelines and procedures, including all OH&S practices. Our customers (our stores) our extremely important to us, and as such, your role will ensure our customers remain happy and satisfied with our service to them. This is the perfect opportunity for a warehouse professional looking for a step up to their first supervision role.

Your role will see you responsible for:

  • Organising and motivating small work teams including ensuring reasonable work distribution
  • Educating and coaching team members to ensure each team member understands site and individual KPI's
  • Working with Shift Managers and other members of the Management team to assist with KPI reporting
  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings with your team and pre/post shift hand over meetings with fellow team managers
  • Improving stock accuracy/store order accuracy to support strong availability for the customer
  • Attending and providing input at performance review meetings

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Strong experience working within a large distribution/warehouse with automation and are keen to take a step up (previous supervisory experience in a like for like role would also be highly advantageous)
  • Great interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence your team in a positive manner while also being confident having uncomfortable conversations when required
  • Strong knowledge of safe work practices
  • Proficiency with warehouse management systems and software (or be tech savvy and able to pick up quickly)
