About the role

We are seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor to oversee the safe, efficient and high-quality operation of our workshop.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager you will supervise workshop activities, labour and materials to ensure jobs and projects are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the required technical and quality standards.

What your day to day will look like:

  • Supervise a workshop team of 15 in their day-to-day operations.
  • Lead and coordinate workshop staff, workloads, schedules and resources.
  • Ensure jobs are completed safely, on time, within budget and to quality standards.
  • Support job scoping, estimating, progress tracking and accurate documentation.
  • Drive team performance against agreed KPIs and goals.
  • Promote compliance with quality, WHS&E and environmental requirements.
  • Conduct safety and quality checks, manage hazards and incidents, and maintain workshop housekeeping.

What we’re looking for:

  • Well-developed fitting and machining skills obtained in a workshop environment. 
  • Have a sound mechanical aptitude and knowledge. 
  • Demonstrated experience leading or supervising workshop teams.
  • Experience operating manual lathes and welding equipment is essential. 
  • Demonstrate a high degree of flexibility with job tasks. 
  • Strong organisational, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A positive, hands-on approach and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • A strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
  • A willingness to work as part of a team, and do whatever is required, to help achieve business targets.
