About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Operations Manager to lead our QLD Distribution Centre operations located at Brendale. Reporting to the National Operations Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing all inbound and outbound warehouse activities, logistics performance, safety, compliance, financial outcomes, and continuous improvement initiatives across the state.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the State Operations Team by setting clear expectations, living the APG Values, and creating a positive, high-performing and accountable culture.
Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations including receiving, picking, dispatch and inventory to ensure customers receive the right product, on time, every time.
Deliver strong operational results by monitoring performance, improving productivity, and driving continuous improvement across all distribution centres.
Manage the state budget and costs to ensure the operation runs efficiently while identifying smarter, more cost-effective ways of working.
Improve logistics and transport performance by reviewing freight, container planning and delivery networks to support service, growth and cost control.
Maintain safe and compliant workplaces by leading safety initiatives, audits and training, and ensuring all sites meet WHS and environmental requirements.
Build strong internal relationships by working closely with Sales and senior leaders to support business growth and operational success.
About you.:
We’re looking for a strong operational leader who:
Has significant experience in warehouse, logistics, or distribution centre management
Has exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
Demonstrates strong financial acumen and P&L management experience
Has proven experience leading large, multi-level operational teams
Is highly organised with strong planning and resource management capability
Is committed to safety leadership and compliance excellence
Embraces technology and data-driven decision-making
Has experience driving change and continuous improvement initiatives
